General Business or Entity Registration / Contractor Registration

All businesses located or operating within the City of Columbia Falls are required to pay a business registration fee and complete any applicable inspections to help protect the health, safety, and welfare of the community. Operating a business without a registration certificate is a violation of Ordinance No. 827.

The business registration certificate serves to:

  • Create an inventory of commercial activities in the City

  • Identify businesses subject to resort tax collection and remittance

  • Ensure compliance with commercial safety regulations

  • Provide a way for City officials to identify and notify business owners
